YG Entertainment on Tuesday denied the allegation that Yoo In-na was kicked out of Hunan TV’s “Love Weaves Through A Millennium 2.”
“Yoo has almost completed filming,” YG Entertainment said. “It is not true that Yoo was replaced by another Chinese actress or that the filming session was suspended.”
But YG Entertainment added it was taking a mindful approach, as it “could observe significant changes in the atmosphere.”
A rumor has circulated online that the producer of the drama expelled Yoo from the set in order to comply with the enforcement of new guidelines from the General Office of Broadcasting and Television in China. The guidelines, which come into effect Monday, state that Korean idol groups are “prohibited from having activities in China on air” and “are not allowed to have any concerts with more than 10,000 fans.”
Korean media argues that such an enforcement is in response to the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense deal with the United States.
Yoo was cast as Pang Ziyi role in “Love Weaves Through A Millennium 2” in July. The series, known as a remake version of tvN‘s fictional periodic series “Queen In-hyun’s Man,” is scheduled to premiere in September.
